The Matrix
From Wikipedia:
Trinity the first officer on the Nebuchadnezzar, a Zion hovercraft commanded by Morpheus. Her "birth" name as a human living inside the Matrix is unknown. Apparently while inside, Trinity had made herself as a local legend in the illusory hacking community of humans living in the Matrix for hacking into the Internal Revenue Service database. Based on Neo's recollection on first meeting Trinity, as well as information from "A Detective Story", an animated short film from The Animatrix, most people mistake Trinity's reputation as being a male.
Like other hovercraft crews, Trinity's job involved the freeing of minds that she and Morpheus determined were ready to accept the truth about the Matrix.
Under the guidance of Morpheus, Trinity and the crew of the Nebuchadnezzar observe and later free from the Matrix a man who calls himself by his hacker name of Neo. It is apparent that Trinity has begun to develop feelings for Thomas Anderson (his name as he is known by most inside the Matrix) before the very start of the first movie, "The Matrix", as she relieves Cypher from his observation shift earlier than planned just to watch Neo.
Reloaded
[After having nightmares about Trinity’s death Neo] asks her not to enter the Matrix as he, Morpheus and the Keymaker make their way to the door that leads to the Source, the mainframe computer that controls the Matrix, and she initially agrees. However, after the Vigilant's crew are killed as they attempted to remove one of two obstacles that would keep Neo from entering the Source, Trinity rushes in to complete the destroyed crew's task, successfully disabling a backup power grid to a building where the Source door resided that Neo must enter. Just as Neo envisioned, Trinity is attacked by Agents and forced to flee by [jumping] out of a tall building.
Neo is given the choice by The Architect to enter the door to the Source, or attempt to save Trinity and leave Zion and the Matrix to be destroyed eventually, killing all of the human race. But Neo experiences love for humanity more distinctly through his love for Trinity, and leaves to successfully save her. Trinity's life fades away from a gunshot wound in the Matrix, but Neo's incredible powers as The One can perform miracles while in the Matrix. He removed the bullet from her body, and then revives Trinity just as she revived him in the original movie.
Revolutions
Shortly after returning Neo's mind to his body, Trinity accompanies Neo to the Machine City in an attempt to stop the war. Trinity pilots the Logos past the Machine City's defenses by catapulting the ship over the defenses and briefly into the clear Earth sky above the dark clouds. The Logos stalls as it falls. Trinity reactivates the hovercraft pads, but too late. Her body is impaled by rebars as the Logos crashes into a central spire in the Machine City. Trinity has a last moment with Neo before he kisses her and her life fades away for the last time.
Post-Revolutions
In the Matrix: (0) New Beginnings (LJ Based)
An undetermined amount of time passes when we see Trinity stuck in the newly rebooted Matrix. She is not able to upload herself through any of the hard lines in the Matrix, nor make contact through the backchannels to anyone in Zion. Remembering the last moments of her life, she has no idea how it came to be that she is alive and back in the Matrix. She fears that she is no longer human and was recreated as a program for a purpose unknown to her (and us). The truth is somewhere in-between. Suffering from nightmares which make her physically unwell in the Matrix we learn that her nightmares are actual visions of what is happening to her body in Machine City.
The Real World: (1) Saving Trinity
Trinity was clinically dead when Neo left to save humanity from the Smith Virus. That was why he was not able to read her signature. However, thanks to the foresight of the Oracle, a plan was set in motion which was to be attempted if this fate occurred. Saved by a program (Ramachandra), machines were able to get her body out of the wreakage and medical droids managed to resuscitate her. She remained unconscious and a coma. Trinity would have been recycled if Neo had failed to save Machine City, which eventually would have been infected by Smith. However, because he did save them, Ramachandra, the Power Plant Systems Manager for Recycling Operations, who met Neo at Mobile Avenue, and has a breadth of human-like emotions, broke protocol and over-rode the orders to have Trinity recycled, and had another sympathetic Operations Management Program for Human Production scheduled her body to be ‘reanimated’ (saved). Trinity was taken to the human engineering section where medical machines tried to save her. Having been impaled, her body was severely damaged and healing quite slow. Trinity remained in a coma during this time and it was unclear whether she would ever wake up.
(2) The Insurgency
The truce that marked the beginning of the new Matrix, did not please everyone.
Ramachandra did not realize that his transmissions and those being transferred by the medical droids about Trinity were being systematically hacked by malicious machines, Cypherites and programs who were not happy with the truce. Gathering enough information, these factions gathered together into a collective of factions opposed to the truce. A major player in this faction are the Cypherites, disgruntled red pills who want Zion destroyed and everyone plugged into the Matrix. Led by a Cypher Program, this well organized, supplied, insurgent group organized in cells had infiltrated areas of Machine City, Matrix City, Zion and Zion’s fleet. They remain dormant until they are asked to do things that would prepare them for the ‘Final Assault’ that the collectives see themselves starting. The Cypher program, having received intelligence that Trinity was being held at Zero One, plots a severely devious plan. Successfully launching a attack on Sector M-369, where Trinity is in medical, the Cypherites capture her body and take her to Sector T-636, where she is kept in a medical stasis by malicious machines.
The actions of the collective caused a small war to erupt in Zero One between those honouring the truce and those who do not. The battle ended in a temporary ceasefire but forced many to choose sides and hence there are strongholds of resistance movements all over Zero One. This has affected the stability of the new Matrix as well.
In the Matrix: (3) ‘I came back…wrong’
Trinity wakes up in the Matrix not knowing what is going on until she finds herself with some abilities that she did not have before her death. These abilities have changed and morphed as she spent time in the Matrix (she has been in the new Matrix for ten months now). She gets confirmation that something is wrong with her when:
(1) Her nose starts to bleed in the Matrix after she is being ‘worked on’ in the real world.
(2) When she stops a bullet in the Matrix from killing her only to pass out and meet her captures.
(3) Her ‘nightmares’ turn out to be her being unplugged and brought back to Zero One for maintenance, etc.
Purpose: The machines try to save her for their purpose, which is unknown to Trinity, and the audience, but known to her Mun.
Status in Real World: Her body is weak but mending slowly. The machines are trying to brainwash her so that she will more easily accept a program that will be downloaded into her, which will change her so that she can more easily execute their purpose. In order for this to happen, she needs to heal more. She remains human.
(4) Abilities
1. Pro: The basic Matrix bending abilities that anyone unplugged has realized they have (being able to withstand more pain and damage/bending the Matrix/jumping large distances/strength). Trinity is especially skillful in jumping/leaping from buildings/rooftops, etc, and landing on her feet.
Being that they will use her for their purpose, they are programming her with certain ‘abilities’/anomalies that will allow her to carry out her task.
2. Pro: She can download anything into her head simply by willing it.
Con: Due to her extensive injuries, downloads are followed by intense headaches and pain, manifested in her within the Matrix. In addition, the use of this ability, before she is properly healed, causes a need for maintenance where she is subjected to sometimes painful procedures in Zero One. This manifests itself through nosebleeds in the Matrix.
Current Progress: She is better at handling the downloads, feels less pain unless she has been in a situation where her RI has been hurt, since it inflicts damage on her real body in Zero One, which is already frail.
3. Pro: She can read and isolate strands of code in the matrix in order to hack it.
Currently, she is only aware the she can read and isolate this code. She inadvertently hacked it once to stop Smith’s bullet from killing her. However, that action by itself nearly killed her, because she was badly hurt both in the Matrix and the Real World, and the machines fought very hard to rescue her life in Zero One.
Con: She cannot add onto code to make something appear (as an Operator does when he downloads). She can only hack and change code that is already there, just as she used to do when she was a hacker in the Matrix.
The damage inflicted on her when she uses this ability depends on (1) what state her health is in the real world at the time, and (2) to what extent she uses this ability. The machines obviously don’t really give a shit about her as long she fulfills their purpose, so once she does by utilizing this ability to its fullest potential, she dies because it will overwhelm her system.
*These abilities will not stay with her forever but only until her overarching plot is resolved.*
*This will not be used against character's or their property without their permission.
Current Progression: She is able to see and read the code. Recently, she realized that she can isolate strings of code and only focus on them. She is not aware that this allows her to change the code, although she did it once already when she stopped Smith's bullet from killing her.
*Trinity is obviously not my creation, I'm just RP'ing her.

Welcome to Tenebrae Nostro (IC). If you have not done so already, please take the time to read the rules, and to join the Tenebrae Nostro Out of Character (OOC) community.
Tenebrae Nostro is a place for the damned to come suffer in silence, a place where nothing is what it appears. You will pray for solitude only to be tormented by those you do not know. Dry your eyes and quietly bare this pain with pride. Find comfort in the knowledge that not every pain hurts. And while you waste your time trying to make sense of this world, it sits, seethes, and waits to consume you, trying your strength against the darkest light of its inhabitants. Hold your head up high, the scars on your soul tell a story of your silent strength that no one can take from you. The bonds we form help us down a path, less lonely, as we tumble through our shadows, our darkness. Welcome to Tenebrae Nostro.
